Welcome to Angelo's Zesto
Angelo's Zesto sits on North Main Street in Columbia and feels like a local stop with history in its walls. I find a mix of American comfort food, fast food, dessert, and ice cream here, with a price range that fits a casual lunch or dinner. The spot draws families, students, tourists, and solo diners, so the room carries a steady neighborhood energy. It has a casual, historic, and trendy feel at once, which gives it a real Columbia character.
The menu leans into the kind of food people come back for: cheeseburgers, fried chicken, fries, milkshakes, pork chops, slaw, and banana split treats. Reviews point to hot, fresh plates, crisp onion rings, and chicken that gets real praise from regulars. The burger and chicken combo stands out most, and the dessert side keeps the stop fun. That mix matters on a local dining list. It gives people one place for a quick bite, a full meal, or a sweet finish.
Service options include dine-in, takeaway, and delivery, with table service for guests who want to sit awhile. The place also accepts reservations, which helps during peak lunch and dinner crowds, especially on Friday when the rush hits hard. Parking is free, access is wheelchair friendly, and kids get a menu too. I see Angelo's Zesto as a classic Columbia stop that keeps its appeal through simple food, fast service, and a strong sense of place. A real grease-on-the-box kind of landmark, in the best way.

About
Angelo's Zesto stands at 4001 N Main St in Columbia, SC, in a part of town that keeps things plain and direct. The building has a landmark feel that many diners notice right away. Some call the look a little rough around the edges, yet that same look fits the spot's long-running local role. It feels like a place people know by memory, not by hype.
The location works well for lunch, dinner, and dessert runs. Solo diners can slide in for a fast meal, while groups and families have room to settle in for a casual stop. University students also fit the scene, which gives the dining room a mixed-day crowd and a steady buzz. Tourist visitors tend to like places with a strong local story, and this one brings that. It has the kind of character that sparks talk at the table.
Access is practical. The site includes a wheelchair-accessible car park, entrance, seating, and toilet. Free street parking and a free parking lot make the visit simple. Payment is easy with cards and NFC mobile options. The kitchen serves comfort food and small plates, so I see it as a flexible stop for a quick meal or a larger plate. Friday gets busy, so a reservation can help. The regular rhythm of the place feels like a neighborhood habit, and that gives it charm.

What People Say
Most Liked
The strongest praise goes to the fried chicken, cheeseburger, fries, and onion rings. Guests mention hot food, fresh flavor, and a burger that feels like the real thing. Milkshakes and banana splits also pull their share of fans. The cone and dessert side add a fun finish. I also see steady love for the fast service and the friendly staff. That mix keeps local regulars coming back. It feels like a corner spot where people trade food tips across tables.
Most Disliked
Some guests say the building and first look can feel plain or worn. A few mention missing soda on a visit, and that can matter for a classic fast-food stop. Parking can feel tight at busy times, since Friday lunch and dinner draw a heavy crowd. The no-frills setting may not suit diners who want a polished room. Still, many people treat those rough edges as part of the place's old-school identity, not a deal breaker.

Hands down this place is AMAZING!!!! We got the Zesto Burger and fries, chicken tenders and onion rings. First, that burger 🤌🏼 The onion rings were a perfect mix of onion and batter. Second, the tenders… I would eat them all the time!!!!! I feel sorry for the place across the street, that also serves chicken (no match, EVER). I hope others enjoy this meal as much as we did!

I have only tried the fried chicken. It is really good without being overly salty. The employees are very nice. The appearance of the restaurant will throw you off. It’s a real hole in the wall….

I give this landmark a five star because not much has changed. Burgers are just the way I remembered still tastes what I think a burger should taste like. Not a McDonald’s burger, yuck, but it’s okay if you like McDonald’s just not my thing. Chicken and fries a good.

This was one of the best burgers I have had in some time. Fries were ok. They did not have soda. That is not cool. I did not try the fried chicken, I did see several order's of fried Chiken come out. I believe I will be back to give the chicken a try.

DELICIOUS food. I knew it was going to be good because it came in a greasy white box 😋😋Fresh, hot and flavorful!! My OU suggestion is changing ranch lol that chicken is TOO good for Ken’s ranch packet.

Service was busy but still friendly during lunch. Great cheeseburgers and fried chicken. Wings were a little small but still tasty

Some of the best fried chicken you can get. I had a double cheeseburger on this trip which was also good. Staff was very friendly
